Previously campaigned against Scottish Independence as part of ‘Better Together’ campaign. Current stance on independence: neutral.

Controversies:
Publication of controversial poem in ‘Shetland: Cooking on the Edge of the World’. This, combined with claims made by co-author, provoked campaign against the book, received threats of violence; published extensive statement in Shetland Times with apology for offence.
Once messed up in a technical challenge on the Great Christmas Bake Off, but then saw what Chetna was doing so copied her. Still lost.
